Auto-Tuner Review: Ultra LEDs

Product: Ultra Xenon White

After changing my dipped beams to Philips Xtreme Power H7s, I decided to get some Philips Blue Vision 501s (W5W). However, these were not as white as I wanted. I opted for LEDs, these will not fade (will stay that crisp white), have a very low power consumption and also come with a 1 year warranty. The LEDs I used are from UltraLEDs.co.uk, “Ultimate I W5W Xenon White”

Shown above are the Ultimate Xenon LED in their packaging as well as one of the old Philips Blue Vision bulbs.

After 5 mins of struggling (in the dark and wet) I fitted the passenger side LED, the pictures below demonstrate the stark difference there is between the LED and the Bulb. The light is not only brighter but near daylight white.

To demonstrate that the LEDs do emit white light (rather than the blue shown), I turned on the camera flash and the LEDs do indeed light up white. These are much whiter than any bulbs on the market and will go perfectly with Xenons or HID conversions.

In terms of price comparison, the Philips Blue Vision bulbs cost £12 while the Ultra White Xenon cost £6.49 each. The LEDs although slightly dearer, than the Philips Blue Visions, are definitely worth the extra cash. The bulbs are much brighter and whiter, and also come with a 1 year warranty which is definitely a bonus. I will definitely be converting to HIDs….Ultra Xenon LEDs 10/10
